Violence is up all over the world and right here in the U.S.A. is up 2%!
But why? Why is violence up in America? What is going on here and abroad that violent crime, not robbery, not muggings, not burglaries, but violent crime is going up and up?
Clearly we are all very frustrated with how "things" are. Just read some of the blogs of the people out there.
There are large groups of people out there who want to wipe us off the face of the earth.
Clearly we are beginning to feel a degree of helplessness and perhaps hopelessness about it.
Last night while watching Anderson Cooper interview the president of Iran I become more and more aware of the reality of what we are dealing with.
Anderson asked some very straight forward yes/no questions of the President of Iran, of which he answered NONE. He did not answer one single question with a direct answer.
Each question was met with a deflection of some sort and a final rant on how much Iran loves the American people and how much respect the Iranian people have for America. He may be speaking for the Iranian people, but not for himself.
Based on his behavior in this interview and others, it is clear that he does not respect America or love Americans. On the contrary....his contempt is actually quite apparent.
Our own President also had a very difficult time answering Wolf Blitzer's questions without interrupting Wolf and without interjecting his own brand of rhetoric and set of canned answers with his own smirks and laughter...another sign of contempt...but for who? Or is that whom? It seems he has contempt for the American people. Like we are asleep or something and that we don't know what is "really" going on?
Then there is the Presedent of Venezuala, Hugo Chavez, who clearly showed his contempt yesterday during his time at the UN.
So let us go back to my earlier question...why is violence going up here in the US? Perhaps it has something to do with our leadership and the leadership of the world. Leadership is not just about what they say, it is also about what leadership does.
It is time we all watched our leadership all over the world and call their actions into question!
