PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

This program will explore and link traditional and alternative medical practices.  Workshops will feature the world’s foremost leaders in Integrative Medicine, the most respected yoga instructors, traditional and alternative doctors, healthcare leaders, nurses, patients, and spiritual teachers to conduct hands-on workshops that will push the boundaries of how we think about Integrative Medicine, and what we can do about it.

Each panel will offer substantial information as well as the opportunity to break out into small groups, participate in problem solving, offer concrete solutions, and make personal commitments which will affect the outcome of pilot programs to be funded by the initiative.

A nutritional working lunch prepared by Chef of Living Foods, Jill Pettijohn will be provided during the daytime panel discussions and evening workshops.

The morning yoga classes are reserved for those yoga professionals participating in ‘The Path’ Yoga Training Program.  We will end each day with an open yoga class, followed by a light meal, discussion and special video recap of the daily seminars. All proceeds from the yoga classes will go to the Urban Zen Initiative.

Donna Karan has created a unique retail experience that reflects the themes of this conference. Specially designed clothing, art objects and educational materials related to health and healing will be offered. All profits will go to the Urban Zen Initiative.

World-renowned photographers have generously donated their prints to be auctioned for the Urban Zen Initiative. This art will be displayed in the studio throughout the entire conference and offered at a silent auction with all proceeds going to the Urban Zen Initiative.

“The beauty of launching this event at my husband’s studio is that it symbolizes his beliefs and what he stood for, the world of science, art and intellect and the ability to confront and deal with the challenges one faces in life. We hope to open our hearts and minds to the issues at hand, and raise consciousness to proactively create a new matrix in dealing with health and healing, to put us on ‘The Path’. “Patient Awareness Towards Healing” – Donna Karan

Robert Ringer used to be a hero..

The Rosie and Trump feud is pretty much old news by now...but others keep tossing in their comments siding with one or the other. While I am one with strong opinions and everyone's right to them, one really caught my eye.

Robert Ringer was one of my hero's. He wrote a number of books whose message really resonated with me.

Today I read the following:

"First, I’m surprised that Trump would lower himself. I agree with just about everything he said about Rosie, but why dignify her existence? When I think of Rosie, I think in cartoons. She reminds me of a barrel of cheese-covered nachos — drenched in beer. She’s beyond insult."

Then in the same article Robert Ringer implies that Barbara Walters lied on public TV and that she never told Trump that hiring Rosie was the biggest mistake she ever made.

"So, what did Barbara Walters do to protect herself? She did what most people will do when someone betrays their confidence. She lied. Yep, even the highly respectable Barbara Walters will lie when cornered."

So what is really going on here.
The only people who really know who said what are the people involved.

Grow up Robert!

Take your own advice and mind your own business and if you are going to comment stick to real information and facts.

Unless you were there during what ever conversation Barbra had with Donald...you are guessing!

9/11

September 11, 2001...

Lives in my mind as if it happened just a few hours ago.  A new motto emerges...
"Never forget"

My emotions today are not quite as different as they were on that day except that the absence of shock and awe that I experienced that day is not as present.

Still sad, still mad and still dissatisfied with what is being done and also very aware of the Phoenix that arose from the ashes that day.

It was the response of tremendous compassion and heroism, not just of the NYC officials but the people.  The people over the next few months were amazing.  As if all our hearts opened wide and we, for a period of time, saw, acknowledged and recognized one another.  It was an amazing experience.

You cant "fight a war on terror".  it's a contradiction in terms.  We fight a war on terror with peace, love and compassion.  I know...I sound like some kind of airy fairy person here...however I am being more practical than I can express here on my blog.  It is through peace, love, compassion and in many cases forgiveness (not forgetness) that allows us to keep our hearts and minds open.

"Do your best to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself, and you find that that is the shortest distance to peace"--Confucius

I'm Back

I'm Back!

We call it vacation but personally I like "On Holiday" so much more.

While I didn't actually go away, I did UNPLUG.

No phones, faxes, emails, etc....Brenda was in charge (my business manager) - like she isn't in charge the rest of the time.  You can check out her delightful blog here.

She rocks!

So I am back in the office today getting prepared to launch my new online office.

Yup, while I closed my office in NYC, I have opened a virtual one online.  I can hardly wait til it's ready.

It will be chock full of stuff for you to use and even a private members- only support forum where you will be able to converse directly with me!

Keep your eyes and ears open!

Preempted by a kitty...

Cute Kitty found on the side of the walking path!

Buster_1

Buster_2_1

Each morning, I take a walk.  There is a mile walking/running path in the park next to my house and I usually do about 3 miles.

This morning, about half way around the first lap, there on the ground off to the side was this kitty.
I thought it was dead!

Yes I watch soap operas

I admit it, I watch soap operas.  Not American soap operas mind you, Korean ones.

Now relax and let me explain!

For the past few years now, I have been a fan of Korean TV. They have some really funny game shows, great docudramas and fun soaps.

The one I am watching now, which is on Monday-Friday, is called the Bizarre Bunch.

Ok..now in order for you to follow you need a little background on all this...so here goes.
